There will be Budget Workshop Meetings for the Town of Delhi to be held on the following:

• Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 4:00 pm
• Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 4:00pm
• Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 4:00pm
• Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 4:00pm
• Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at 4:00pm

Meetings are held at the Town Hall, 5 Elm Street, Delhi.  Any other business that may come before the board will also be addressed at such time.

A Budget Workshop is a meeting, open to the public, where people can listen to the Town Boards deliberations on budget matters. The Town Board will discuss budget lines and talk about perogatives for the future funding of Town services.

The Town of Delhi Highway Department will be sealing the following roads on August 22nd and August 23rd from 7:30am - 3:30pm weather permitting:

• Sherwood Road
• Scotch Mountain Road
• Huska Road
• Tanglewood Lake Road
• Maggie Hoag Road

With severe weather events becoming more frequent and more extreme, it is more important than ever that New Yorkers are prepared for disasters. The NY Citizen Preparedness Training Program teaches residents to have the tools and resources to prepare for any type of disaster, respond accordingly and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions. This training course will provide an introduction to responding to a natural or man-made disaster. Participants will be advised on how to properly prepare for any disaster, including developing family emergency plan and stocking up on emergency supplies. Each family that attends will receive one Preparedness kit.

Weather permitting the Town of Delhi Highway Department will be paving Sherwood Road, Thursday July 25th. The road will be closed to all traffic between the hours of 7:00am - 3:00pm. Please use an alternative route. Should it be necessary to reschedule work will be done Friday, July 26th. Thank you!

There will be an emergency meeting to be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 6:00pm for the purpose of hiring additional lifeguards for the pool.

DELHI FAIR ON THE SQUARE

Kids - Be sure to bring your bikes to Delhi's Fair on the Square, Friday July 12th from 5:00pm - 7:30pm.  It's time to get your tire pressures, chains and brakes checked for a safe and fun biking summer.  Basic repairs will be provided free of charge.

The bike station will be located on the square by the Delhi Village and Town table by the Courthouse near Court Street.

This program has been made possible through the generous support of the Delhi Village Police Benevolent Association, Otsego Bicycles of Oneonta, and the Village and Town of Delhi.

So kids- don't forget to bring your bikes to the Fair on the Square on July 12th! 

The Town of Delhi announces the new town pool hours:

12:30PM - 8:00PM daily

All are welcome to come and enjoy the pool!

Please note that swim lessons are free for Town of Delhi and Town of Meredith residents.  Town of Hamden residents must pay the required $60.00 per child fee, but will be reimbursed a percentage by their town.  All others interested in swim lessons must pay the $60.00 fee per child.  Registration forms are available through the Town Clerks office  or can be downloaded from the https://www.thedelhipool.com

Per Delhi Police Department Chief Michael Mills:

During the Delhi Covered Bridge Run on June 1, 2019 from 9 am to 11 am the following roads and bridges will be closed and/or limited to local traffic only:

• County Route 18 (from the Village line to Fitch’s Bridge)
• Fitch’s Bridge
• Delaware Avenue
• Bridge Street
• The Bridge Street Bridge
• Page Avenue
• Sherwood Road
• The Lois Ray Memorial Bridge on Sherwood Road
• Arbor Hill Road (from State Highway 28 to Sherwood Road)

Parts of Main Street will be closed briefly at the start of the event. Motorists are asked to exercise caution while traveling and be cognizant of runners and traffic safety personnel who will be sharing the roadways along the route of the course.

The Delaware County Department of Public Works will be closing Bridge 10, Sherwood Road over the West Branch Delaware River to through traffic on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 7:30am for routine bridge cleaning.  The bridge will be reopened by the end of the day.  The traveling public should use alternate routes. 

PLEASE REMEMBER, April 30th is the last day to pay taxes to the Town of Delhi.  Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 3:00pm, there is a drop box available for your convenience.  The drop box is checked daily.  ANY tax payments in the drop box will be considered on time and be accepted as will payments postmarked April 30th.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that the Delhi Town Board at the January 3, 2019 Organizational Meeting have set forth that monthly meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm at the Delhi Town Hall Building, 5 Elm Street, Delhi New York, unless otherwise stated or advertised. 

TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that at such meeting the official depository for funds of Supervisor, Justice Court, Town Clerk and Tax Collector shall be the Delaware National Bank of Delhi.  AND, the Town of Delhi Supervisor shall invest all idle funds as recommended by the Department of Audit and Control and the State of New York.

ALSO NOTED, the official newspaper for the Town of Delhi shall be the Reporter.
