Year End Meeting & Organizational Meeting

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN:

The Town of Delhi will be holding it's Year-End Board Meeting on Thursday, December 28th 2017 at 12:00pm at the Delhi Town Hall, 5 Elm Street, Delhi, NY. 

The Organizational Meeting will be held on Thursday, January 4th, 2018 at 4:00pm at the Delhi Town Hall.

Special Meeting Notice

Just a reminder if you didn't see it in the Walton Reporter!  There will be a Special Meeting at the Delhi Town Hall, 5 Elm Street, Delhi, New York tonight September 26, 2017 at 6:00pm.  This is a joint meeting of the Town of Delhi and the Village of Delhi to review the progress of the Delhi Flood Commission. 

Free Rabies Vaccination Clinic

Delaware County's final free rabies vaccination clinic for 2017 for dogs, cats, and ferrets will be held October 18th at the Delhi Fire Hall, 140 Delview Terrace Extension, Delhi.  The hours are 6:00pm - 8:00pm.

The Town wishes to congratulate Court Bailiff Tom Glass on his retirement!  Tom's dedication and contributions to the Town will be sorely missed.  We wish him the best in his future endeavors and thank him for all his years of service!

Proposed Delaware County Public Works Facility Presentation

Due to the controversy surrounding the siting of the proposed new Delaware County Department of Public Works building, the Delhi Town Board has asked for a public meeting to be held on July 12, 2017 at 7:00pm in the Delaware Academy School Auditorium, 2 Sheldon Drive, Delhi. There will be a presentation by the Delaware County Public Works Commissioner and Committee followed by a question and answer session for the public to be heard.We urge all interested parties to attend.

June 13, 2017 Public Hearing & Town Council Meeting

There will be a Public Hearing tonight June 13, 2017 at 7:25pm for the New York State Community Renewal's Community Development Block Grant Program - Sportsfield Specialties Economic Development Program Closeout. 

The regular monthly Town Council Meeting will follow directly following the Public Hearing.

2017 Town & County Taxes

Please note that the Town is no longer accepting tax payments.  For information on tax amounts due you must contact the Delaware County Treasurer's office at 607-832-5070.  Thank you. 

2017 Town Taxes

Please remember that the last day to pay your 2017 Town of Delhi taxes is Monday, May 1, 2017.  If you are unable to make it during normal business hours (8:00am-3:00pm) there is a drop box located at the main door for you convenience which is checked daily.   Also note we do go by postmarks!  Thanks!

CANCELLATION

Please take note that the Town Clerk's office will be closed tomorrow Tuesday, March 14th due to the impending weather.  Also, note that the Town of Delhi Town Board Meeting scheduled for Tuesday evening is also cancelled. 

The Board Meeting is rescheduled for Friday, March 17, 2017 at 4:00pm.

Public Hearing 01/10/2017 at 7:00pm / Regular Board Meeting to Follow

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town of Delhi Town Council will hold a Public Hearing on proposed amendments to the Town of Delhi Zoning Law.   Said hearing will take place at 7:00pm on January 10th, 2016 at the Town Hall located at 5 Elm Street in the Village of Delhi.  Amendments proposed include the addition of a section to allow for and prescribe performance criteria for the development of Flag lots as well as amendments to the regulation of construction within the Special Flood Hazard Area.  All interested persons will be given an opportunity to speak.

Public Hearing to Override the Tax Levy Limit

 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the Town Board for the Town of Delhi at the Delhi Town Hall on the 8th  day of November 2016, at 7:00 p.m., regarding the adoption of a Local Law to Override the Tax Levy Limit established in General Municipal Law §3-c.   This law is being proposed to comply with subdivision 5 of the General Municipal Law §3-c which expressly authorizes the Town Board to override the tax levy limit by the adoption of a local law approved by vote of at least sixty percent (60%) of the Town Board.  At such time and place all persons interested in the subject matter thereof will be heard concerning the same.

Copies of the proposed law shall be available at the time of the hearing and shall be available at times prior to and after the hearing at the Town Clerk’s Office during normal business hours for the purpose of inspection or procurement by interested persons.

The proposed Local Law to Override the Tax Levy Limit Established in General Municipal Law §3-c establishes the Delhi Town Board’s intent to override the limit on the amount of real property taxes that may be levied by the Town of Delhi.
